As a consultant, Bernadette works with institutions and the 1199SEIU UHWE union to identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement. She uses such tools as reviews of organizational priorities, customer feedback surveys, mediation and process solutions to enhance existing services and develop new initiatives. Through the creation of labor and management leadership committees, workers are empowered to lead sustainable projects while increasing their capacity through skill building, and management is introduced to alternate ways to utilize their workforce in a cooperative way. Bernadette has committed her career to improving and empowering workers to see themselves as agents of change, and to change the dynamic of labor management relationships.
