Since high school, Diann Jeffers has been an activist for social change. For most of her life, her work has focused on worker engagement and involvement and organizational change.
Diann’s passion led to her involvement with 1199SEIU, where she played key roles in various areas for more than eleven years: first, as a rank and file union member, then as a Delegate, and finally as a Contract Administrator. In 2013, Diann joined the 1199SEIU/League Labor Management Project as a Labor Management Consultant. In this role, she works with union and management to problem-solve complex organizational and industry challenges by focusing on collaborative partnerships in New York hospitals and nursing homes. Her focus includes providing healthcare workers with the tools necessary to produce positive working relationships and leadership development.
One of her favorite quotes is from author Mary Anne Radmacher: “Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow.”
