Hospitals with 1199SEIU members spent National Nurses Week, which took place May 6 through May 12, honoring their nurses in a variety of ways. From breakfasts to appreciation services and awards programs, nurses had the opportunity to enjoy recognition for their hard work and dedication.

At Good Samaritan, Nurture the Nurse Day included massages and other offerings, while Orange Regional Medical Center held a Nurses Appreciation Service where nurses were blessed with holy oil. The Registered Nurse Labor Management Initiative (RNLMI) brought its own expression of appreciation to the festivities in the form of giveaways.

Registered nurses were excited to receive a variety of gifts, including RNLMI-themed umbrellas, card cases, first aid kits, key ring pouches and pens. The RNLMI works with labor and management to solve challenges related to patient care, RN recruitment and retention, safe staffing, and patient satisfaction. We honor our nurses during National Nurses Week and all year long!
