Robert “Bob” DeLauro has over thirty years of experience developing and implementing value-added workplace programs. Bob worked at a Community Mental Health Center in Southeast Michigan providing individual and group psychotherapy for Vietnam Veterans in addition to case-managing clients with psychiatric illnesses within residential treatment sites. Over a fourteen year period as an employee assistance professional in Michigan–and later New York City–he provided counseling and social work services to employees from all job titles at a wide range of work sites including The Chrysler Corporation, Time Warner, Unisys and Zingerman’s Delicatessen.

In 1997, Bob took an organization development position with Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers. For 14 years, he handled a variety of responsibilities including OD consultancy, coaching, reward and recognition programs, new hire orientations, and grant management and performance management. With the closing of SVCMC in 2010, Bob worked as an external consultant for the 1199SEIU/League Labor Management Project and within one year became a full-time LMP employee.

At the LMP, Bob coordinates the Patient Centered Care Project, an initiative funded by a HCRA 6 State Grant that provides skill-based training and performance improvement projects at hospitals throughout New York City, Long Island and Westchester. He has expanded his areas of expertise to include nursing homes and long-term care facilities through his work with the MDS 3.0 Learning Collaborative and the Person Centered Music Project. His work as a facilitator and coordinator with Labor-Management committees has consistently led to improvements in clinical care, patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction and fiscal performance. Throughout his career and in his current position with the LMP, Bob has made every effort to incorporate social work’s core values–service, social justice, the dignity of each person, the importance of human relationships, integrity and competence– into his daily work. He has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
