Marcia Mayfield joined the LMP in 2012. She has more than 20 years of experience as a manager and technical advisor in program planning, monitoring, evaluation, applied research, and strategic planning for healthcare, public health and social service agencies, not-for-profits, and private foundations.

Prior to joining the LMP, Marcia was director of evaluation at PHI, a leading national think tank, advocacy, training, and organizational change consulting group for direct-care workers in the long-term care industry. Prior to that, Marcia was the director of evaluation and research at EngenderHealth, an international reproductive health technical assistance/service delivery organization headquartered in New York. She provided technical support and training in research and evaluation to ministries of health and non-governmental organizations in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. She also worked at the consulting firm, the TCC Group, conducting program evaluation and policy analysis in community development, home health care, child care, health and human services. Marcia has provided research and evaluation technical support to the New York City HIV Health and Human Services Planning Council, the Open Society Institute, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

She holds a Masters of Public Health from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
