RNLMI

The RNLMI helps labor and management solve challenges concerning patient care, RN recruitment and retention, and patient satisfaction.

RN Section F/Labor Management Committees

According to the 1199SEIU RN collective bargaining agreement, each RNLMI affiliated hospital is required to establish a Section F Committee that is composed of agreed-upon labor and management stakeholders. This committee is charged with meeting monthly to promote and develop an environment focused on enhancing excellent patient care, safe staffing, and nursing satisfaction.

The RNLMI helps labor and management solve challenges concerning patient care, RN recruitment and retention, and patient satisfaction. We also work with co-chairs and committee members to enhance their ability to communicate effectively, analyze and use data, and work collaboratively for improvement.

RN Staffing Guidelines

In July 2014 a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) was reached between the League of Voluntary Hospitals and Homes, the RN Division of the 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East and independent employers. As part of the CBA, labor and management agreed to review and update staffing guidelines, addressing significant advances in clinical technology and pharmacology, the implementation of electronic medical records, and an increase in patient acuity.

RNLMI and LMP staff supported labor and management teams, incorporating interest-based problem solving to develop new agreements. The RNLMI now helps to guide the implementation of each hospital’s agreements.
