Clyde Riggins Jr

Co-Director, Labor Management Project
(212) 894-4312

Clyde Riggins Jr. has worked with the 1199SEIU/League Labor Management Project (LMP) since 2005, assisting labor and management in confronting challenges inherent in a complex and evolving healthcare delivery system. As an LMP Assistant Director, he oversaw the work of consultants with our hospital and union partners. He was recently promoted to Co-Director of the Labor Management Project.

Prior to his position with the Labor Management Project, he served as the Manager of Organizational Development and Change Management at the Bronx campus of The Jewish Home Lifecare, which served approximately 2,500 employees and 750 residents and patients. He was responsible for all non-clinical training and development efforts at the facility, including new hire and departmental orientations, in-services, state and JCAHO survey preparations, and culture change (resident-centered) initiatives.

The earlier part of his professional career was spent at the Group Health Incorporated (GHI), where his work centered on training and organizational development. Through this position, he had the opportunity to strengthen his facilitation and program development skills, which ultimately led to his participation in the creation of a “corporate university” for leaders within the organization. He also developed and facilitated programs focusing on effective conflict resolution and problem solving, diversity management, presentation and communication skills, effective negotiations and departmental performance improvement initiatives.

He received his BS in Business Management from the State University of New York – College at Old Westbury. He views himself as a “life learner” and has participated in many educational and training programs that have enhanced his competencies.
